10-Day Family Tanzania: Safari and Beach

A relaxed family holiday with short game drives, a pool, and a beach to finish on.

Duration

10 days / 9 nights

Starts in

Arusha

Guiding

Private expert guide

From

$3,160 per person

Highlights

Shorter game drives, family-friendly lodges and pool time to break up the days.

A private vehicle, so the day runs at your children's pace.

Five nights on safari, then four on the beach in Zanzibar.

Overview

A safari can be the trip of a lifetime for children too, if the pace is right. This itinerary spends five nights in the north, with a soft first day and short drives, and finishes with a beach stay on Zanzibar where everyone can rest.

We choose lodges that welcome children and can add a cook-out, a village visit or a junior ranger session. See the 6-day family safari for a shorter alternative.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum age?
It depends on the lodge and activity. Most lodges accept children from about five, and some welcome younger children. Tell us the ages and we plan accordingly.
Can we change the itinerary?
Yes. Every safari can be adapted: dates, lodges, number of nights and the parks you visit. Tell us what matters and we rebuild the plan.
What is the best time to go?
Wildlife viewing is good all year. The dry season from June to October is easiest for game drives, while the green season has fewer visitors and lower prices.
