A home coffee ceremony: pound, roast and brew beans with a Chagga family.

Lunch of local dishes and views of Kilimanjaro.

Overview

Materuni sits at 1,700 metres above Moshi, in a landscape of banana groves and coffee plots. The waterfall is about 70 metres high and the walk to it is easy, with a short, slippery scramble at the end.

It is a well-known community tour, and every fee goes to the village. Combine it with the Kikuletwa hot springs for a full day around Moshi, or use it as a rest day after a climb.
