A boat ride from Nungwi or the east coast to the protected reef.
Two snorkel stops over healthy coral with plenty of fish.
A chance to see turtles and dolphins.
Overview
Mnemba is a small marine reserve off the north-east coast. Visitors cannot land, but the waters around it are among the clearest on the island, and the reef is worth the early start.
Wind and tide decide the timing, so the boat leaves when the sea is at its best. See Mnemba Atoll.
