Climate
Udzungwa is forest walking: Sanje Falls, endemic monkeys, and a humid Eastern Arc mountain that has nothing to do with a savanna game drive.
The Sanje waterfall day hike is the usual introduction, steep enough that people who "do some walking at home" feel it. Longer trails exist for overnight trekkers. Udzungwa red colobus and Sanje mangabey are the mammals you came for. Lions are not.
Sleep in Mang'ula. Combine with Mikumi or continue toward Ruaha. This is a southern add-on for hikers, not a substitute for Kilimanjaro, and not a beach. After Udzungwa, some guests still fly to Zanzibar to dry out.

FAQs
How fit for Sanje Falls?
You need knees and lungs for a few hours of steps and roots. It is not a stroll from the car park to a viewpoint and back in twenty minutes.
Can we see the primates?
Colobus are likely if you walk quietly. Mangabeys are shyer. We go with park guides who know the current fruiting trees.
